Sue has been invited to speak extensively throughout the United States and Canada, by seminar groups,
at conferences, and to medical staffs, also presenting keynotes, breakout sessions and workshops on
stress management and wellness, nutrition, and handling interpersonal conflict effectively. She is known
for her humor and interactive style. Her goals are always for participants to learn practical new skills
that they can walk away from her presentation and put to use immediately to improve their lives.
Developing and motivating self-management behaviors are at the heart of Sue’s messages. She connects
effectively with her audiences, helping them understand and overcome the blocks we all have to creating
the lives we want. And, Sue makes sure that everyone has a great time while learning.
A health care educator, one of Sue’s special interests are persons with chronic or progressive disease
such as Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s, their caregivers and families, to whom she has delivered
keynotes and presentations on stress management and on nutrition. She consults for family businesses
with respect to family member counseling and communication, stress and conflict in relationships. Sue
is a clinician for the Baltimore Ravens football team and conducts workshops for the team as required
by the NFL.
Sue earned her undergraduate degree in Nursing at the University of Massachusetts and her
Master’s in Nursing in Seattle, Washington. Upon moving to Baltimore in 1993, she earned two
Post-Master’s Nurse Practitioner Degrees. Sue earned a program certificate from Georgetown University’s
Center for Mind-Body Medicine in "Food as Medicine: Integrating Nutrition In Medical Education and
Clinical Practice". Her professional experience also includes nursing intervention and management
with respect to substance abuse, eating disorders, crisis assessment and medication management, and
diabetes education program development on a national level.
